About Helpdesk

Shorter Helpdesk is the helpdesk system used at Shorter University to track problems around campus. Students, faculty, and staff can report problems to the Shorter Helpdesk system and continually view the status of those tickets.

How do I login?

To login to Shorter Helpdesk, use the link on the navigational menu named "Login". That link takes you to the login screen where you supply your ID number and pin. The same pin used to login to SCHOLAR will be used to login to Shorter Helpdesk.

If you do not know your login and pin:

Students contact your advisor.

How do I submit a ticket?

To submit a ticket to Shorter Helpdesk, you must login. After a successful login, use the "Submit Ticket" link on the navigational menu. The "Submit Ticket" link is not visible if your are not logged into Shorter Helpdesk.

From the "Submit a Helpdesk Ticket" page, fill in the requested information. For the "Type of Problem" section, use the dropdown menu to select a category. Once a category is selected, the "Description of Problem" box will be populated. Select the appropriate description for your problem. In the Comments section, add any additional comments you may have. Press the "Submit" button to submit your ticket to Shorter Helpdesk.

How do I check the status of my ticket?

To check the status of your ticket, you must be logged into Shorter Helpdesk. By using the "My Tickets" link on the navigational menu, you can view the "My Helpdesk Tickets" page. The My Helpdesk Tickets page displays all the tickets you have submitted. To see the comments and more information on a ticket, click the "View" link beside of the respective ticket.

How do I report a problem with the Shorter Helpdesk system?

To report problems (bugs) about Shorter Helpdesk, use the "Submit Bug" link on the left navigational menu.

A bug is the term that describes a problem with a software package.
